After completing his primary and secondary education at Athens College (graduated from high school in 1980) he was subsequently admitted to the Faculty of Law of the University of Athens, where he studied until 1985, obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Law with First Class Honours (ranked first in graduation). He continued with postgraduate studies (1986 – 1987) at the University College London (UCL), University of London, from which he received in 1987 an LL.M. degree. He has also completed postgraduate courses and received diplomas from other universities (Vienna, Salamanca et al.) and a M.Sc. degree from the University of Leicester. He was admitted to the Athens Bar in 1987.
     He is legal advisor to numerous engineering and public works contracting firms, construction design firms, as well as project management and facilities maintenance companies. He also provides his legal services to State, regional and local authorities in matters relating to the award and execution of public works contracts. From December 2001 onwards he holds the position of Legal Counsel to the Association of Greek Contracting Companies (A.G.C.C.). He participates in legislative and counseling committees focusing on public works legislation.
     He has written the book “Public Works Law” (2000) and published articles in legal journals in Greece and abroad. He has, also, issued a significant number of written legal opinions under his capacity as Legal Counsel to the A.G.C.C.
     He speaks English, Spanish and German.
